About Me

I am a licensed Kindermusik and Musikgarten teacher with a BA in Child Development and a minor in Music from Cal State Long Beach. I have completed Level 1 training in Orff Schulwerk at Mills College, and have been teaching Early Childhood music classes at various preschools, recreation centers, day schools, and private homes in the Bay Area since 1999.

Music has always been an integral part of my life. My family is very musical, so I was fortunate to have that positive influence growing up. I enjoyed singing in choirs all through college. I also worked as a studio back-up vocalist and sang with several rock bands. Performing is definitely in my blood!

I relocated to the Bay Area from Southern California in late 1996. I joined the Berkeley Community Choir in 1997 and shortly thereafter became pregnant with my first child. In May of 1999, I auditioned and was cast as Grandma Tzeitel in Piedmont Light Opera Theater's “Fiddler on the Roof.” In July of 1999 I began teaching Kindermusik. I started with only three students, and am happy to report that I now have over 130!

Baby #2 came along in August of 2001. I took five weeks off after he was born, and then continued teaching with the little babe at my side. He loves music, and by 17 months, could already match my pitch!

I have found the perfect occupation. I love being with children and sharing my love of music with them. I can be myself: creative, outgoing and playful. I am committed to providing a unique and exciting early childhood musical experience, integrating the latest professional techniques into my curriculum.

I hope we get a chance to meet!
